Aerodynamicist/CFD Engineer

We are looking for an aerodynamicist/CFD engineer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Builds models and performs simulations to determine aerodynamic performance (meshing, modeling, post-processing)
  • Works directly with customers  to develop and evaluate new concepts
  • Develops and implements new CFD methodologies and tools. Where applicable, leverages ARC’s technical resources and new technology to improve performance;
  • Conducts physical testing when necessary to validate simulations and designs.
  • Develops testing methodologies to aid in development of CFD processes.

Job Requirements 

  • A background in aerodynamic design and optimization, and a degree, or post-graduate qualification in aerodynamics, aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, physics, or mechanical engineering
  • Strong interest in automotive vehicle development or other product development environment where aerodynamics/fluid dynamics plays a key role
  • An exceptional understanding of, and intuition for, fluid dynamics
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of wind tunnel experimental techniques either at model scale or full scale
  • Proficient in the use of CFD tools for aerodynamic development such as OpenFOAM, STAR CCM+, Fluent or other CFD tools
  • Knowledge of surface mesh preparation using ANSA, Hypermesh, or other tools
  • Familiarity with geometry creation, simplification, and data management within CAD software
  • Must work well in fast-paced, dynamic team and product development environments
  • Must be proactive in improving processes and driving projects, examples of this should be provided
